I need help on hole size
Hey Guys,
I need help? I'm wondering what size hole Lefevbre used on his mask. I made a custom "Lefevbre" mask for my self, but I cut holes too big. I sold it on ebay and plan on making a new one. I used a 7/8 bit. I think it looks too big. The next size down is a 3/4 bit, which I think is too small. I just don't know??? I'll need to tweek the mold a little. Any help would be cool. I have included some pics of my mask and some real Lefevbres.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: I need help on hole size
How about 3/4 + .. the final effect of filing the holes ? That little bit of edge rounding might be what you're looking for.

Re: I need help on hole size
Is that a size bit you can buy at a hardwear store?

Re: I need help on hole size
What I do is draw the correct size hole with a circle template, then drill a pilot hole in the middle. To get to my drawn circle size, I use a cone shaped grinding attachment in my drill instead of a regular drill bit.

Re: I need help on hole size
I would agree with you Dave. Whenever I use just a drill bit for some reason they are never perfectly round. I just bought some grinding stones and they work well on fiberglass. I also like the different tapers as you can round off the corners and only have to touch it up by hand.

Re: I need help on hole size
Thanks guys, I understand what you mean with the drill bits. So, what size hole are on those Lefevbre mask? 3/4, 13/16?
