Those are some crazy brow ridges on that Harrison.

You aren't kidding. Ruffles have ridges. Looks like Pelle Lindberg ridges. Both of those are cool masks.

Did Al Smith ever play a game in the mask with the logos of all the teams he played for? I've seen the mask pictured but I've never seen it in an action shot. emoticon

I am of the belief that Al Smith was the undisputed heavyweight champion of goaltenders. That guy could fight. And he was well known to take matters into his own hands if someone stepped out of line and ran a cheap shot on one of his teammates. Smith was well known to go after someone anywhere on the ice and hand their ass to them.

He is well remembered.

Battlin Billy and Sean Burke would have given Al a run for his money -but you are right on - Al wouldn't take anybody's sh-t on the ice.

Al Smith was very much like Gary Edwards was when it came to fighting. Smith had more high profile fights, but Edwards had one season with the North Stars (78-79) where I can think of four or five fights he was involved with. And he was the backup to Meloche!
Al Smith was a wonderful spirit who had a huge heart for all he did.
