GP95 Toe Buckle Hardware
Here I am being a keener about details but I am trying to restore the new pads I got. My other GP95's have these so I assume they are stock from cooper. I need help finding the backings. Anyone have 4? They are 7/16ths long. They are similar to backings Markus Benjamin used on his masks. The fronts are simple Helmet Screws. Does anyone have any that aren't made into a philips screw?
My older GP59's have Copper Rivets and look to be stock also there is one Copper Rivet in these. Is it possible that Cooper used to use Copper Rivets and went to the hardware below later. Can you check your pads if you have an old set of coopers? THX
Brian
Any help/info appreciated.

Re: GP95 Toe Buckle Hardware
Brian, don't worry about an originality issue with those screws. They are definitely replacements. My Coopers had the toe buckles riveted onto the pads. I remember this clearly because I had a hard time getting one off when a puck bent the buckle and I had to replace it. Every pads I have had since then has had replaceable toe straps. I don't know why Cooper did it that way.

Re: GP95 Toe Buckle Hardware
Yes thanx Neums, that is good because I had mine Riveted on this pair with copper rivets.. I checked my newer pair and they had these (in photo) on them. So I guess I will leave them. This must have been how they came. I am a restoration freak. I restore radios and spend days searching for proper looking "materials". I always I like (if possible) putting thing back to the way they came form the factory. My 59's that I just sold had the rivets as well.

Re: GP95 Toe Buckle Hardware
My first set of GP59xl pads had the copper rivet. That was in 1975.
By 1978, when I obtained my next set of Cooper pads, they had switched to screws.

Re: GP95 Toe Buckle Hardware
I think the Older set I have were riveted originally like your Neums, but I think the newer set or 95's I have with the large cooper down the side are original with 4 of the exact same harware in the photo above. Complete with original leather washers on the post which look not to be home-made..
