My GP59L's On Display In The Hockey Hall of Fame
I wouldn't have believed it but my GP59L pads are on display in the Hockey Hall of Fame as a part of the Montreal Canadiens Centennial display in Toronto.
I sold them on Ebay to a fellow who claimed to be from the HHOF and said they would be part of the Canadiens locker room display that opens on November 8th. I shipped them to the HHOF in Toronto in mid-October. I received this email after the sale.
"Name is XXX and yes the pads will most certainly be going on display in the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of a replica stall exhibit for Ken Dryden in the Montreal Canadiens dressing Room. The pads very closely resemble the pads that Dryden wear during that time and are also 31" tall just like his.
Anyways below is the confirmed address you requested and me e-mail addresses:
Hockey Hall of Fame
Brookfield Place 30 Yonge St.
Toronto, ON.
M5E1X8
Thanks Mark and I really look forward to receiving the pads."
I went to HHOF.com and viewed the video of the Canadiens Centennial exhibit and although it's pretty dark, if you look under the number "1" jersey next to Dryden's "29" jersey, you can see the white tops of my pads. I've requested pictures but have not heard back from the Scott yet. I'm surprised they wouldn't have opted for a nice set of "Pro pads"?

Thanks Coxie! That would be great.
I'll be making a point of visiting the HHOF sometime this winter.
I'm still trying to locate Ernies nephew but the trail got cold when I couldn't locate some of his buddies. I've got one more contact to source.

I think they were displayed in the Montreal Canadien dressing room at The Hall.

I'm surprised no one on our board have the bearings on the whereabouts of his nephew.
As for the pads, Bernie basically lives at the HHOF. Perhaps he could take a photo on his next visit with Johnny.

Dryden wore GP95XL's not GP59Ls. Not that it really matters just a point out.

Correct. That's why I was surprised they would want my pads for the display. Maybe it was the "patina"? They were very well used and in good shape still.

Pretty neat setup. The Dryden mask looks like a THC mask, if not mistaken. Who made the Plante?
