Re: Neums in action
Love the floating water bottle in the last pic!
I'm going to have to find an old school coach that can give me some lessons in the "stand up" style. I've only ever played goalie during street hockey as a kid, the last place you'd do the modern butterfly style.
I've got five games under my belt so far, and all the other goalies just drop to the ice and lay their stick flat the minute the puck gets within 10ft of the crease. I on the otherhand have nowhere to go but up :-)

Re: Neums in action
Here is a shot from last Saturday. I had to wear a black jersey, so I brought out my old CHL Decatur Storm uniform. I also put on all the same equipment I wore with the Storm in 1983. (the mask is a replica I made a few years ago, the original one was stolen)

FANTASTIC! Everything looks like it has aged well. What a weird cage.

Looks GREAT.. I wish I could play against you. I like those sparse fiberglass combos. Like Meloche.

Re: Neums in action
The cage was a Safe-T-Guard that I used with a helmet during high school. When I was in college, I saw Phil Myre playing for the Flyers with a combo mask. It was the first time I saw one and thought it looked like a good idea. At that time I was wearing an HM30 Cooper cage. I decided to try and make a combo mask, but I didn't know how it would turn out and I didn't want to ruin my good HM30, so I dug up my old Safe-T-Guard.

Re: Neums in action
that is an interesting combo, I like it.
after my exterience w/ a cutdown hm-30 I'd be a little leery of that cage.

Re: Neums in action
That particular Sher-Wood Stick you are using looks A LOT like the "Meloche Pattern" Sher-Woods that I used in 1980-81...
I still have three of them left over from that season...
