I'm also wondering, where is the best position for the photogragheer to be positioned when takeing action shots like that? It looks like he was right down on the ice in a couple of those shots! Was he on the players bench? I've tried to take action shots of goalies and they come out looking like crap.nondisclosed_email@example.com (halvey)Fri, 27 Feb 2009 21:58:32 +0000 Re: The Simo Fibro Combo in ACTIONhttps://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p243769,from=rss#post243769https://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p243769,from=rss#post243769forgot about that: Hi Neal, Very glad you liked them. It was fun to shoot and a good learning opportunity for Julie. I'd love to say that the image quality was all skill and experience (that certainly plays a part) but the equipment has a lot to do with it. To shoot sports (after anticipating the shot you want) you need lenses that capture all available light (f2.8) and cameras that can stop the action (shutter speeds of 1/320 of a second or faster). The flash heads make it easier to control the light in terms of amount and color. After you've got the image then there's software to crop, correct and enhance images to get to the finished product. For better or worse photography has become a very technology based art! I do all types of photography (portrait, product, commercial, events, etc.) so please keep me in mind. There are pretty strong shadows that look like a flash, but the angle is wrong. The shutter speed is very high as well, much faster that I would expect from ambient light only. Either way. I had to get there from Silver SPring, but we had guys from as far away as Towson, north of BAltimore. No wonder we sucked! SOund slike a great set-up Simo! Its not the Hockey North Am. league, did that years ago. This is my local rinks league (mt.vernon rec ctr) and our captain is the man. He brings beer every game, hooked up jerseys for everyone and he's a good D man. I'll get camera specs from my buddy Steve, he's the pro. I love that combo and you are looking sharp with the classic Kohos. I think I must have stolen the fibro gray idea for my protechsport from you. Those Eagle pads are pretty sweet as well. Did the guy taking the pictures use a zoom? If you don't mind filling us in on the magic behind the lens I think it would help all of us get some action shots that look a little better than the fuzzy behind the glass stuff that I always seem to wind up with from the GF.nondisclosed_email@example.com (drplywood)Tue, 10 Feb 2009 09:22:42 +0000 Re: The Simo Fibro Combo in ACTIONhttps://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p243349,from=rss#post243349https://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p243349,from=rss#post243349quote:nsimo wrote: thank you Steve for the great pics Simo Simo, cool shots.
