And then they copied his design, he mentioned that the Czec/slovaks especially copied his style of making masks. That he made a couple one year and the next they (the CSSR goalies) all had them.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Maskman)Fri, 31 Jul 2009 16:18:38 +0000 Re: European goalieshttps://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246599,from=rss#post246599https://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246599,from=rss#post246599Jiri Holecek nondisclosed_email@example.com (drydenforever)Fri, 31 Jul 2009 16:09:53 +0000 Re: European goalieshttps://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246596,from=rss#post246596https://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246596,from=rss#post246596Is that Hardy Astrom in one of those photos?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Maskguy5)Fri, 31 Jul 2009 14:56:25 +0000 Re: European goalieshttps://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246532,from=rss#post246532https://bvintagegoaliemaskdiscussionpage.runboard.com/p246532,from=rss#post246532Those euro helmet-masks are so..... They take a combo and saw the top from the eyes up off and attach what is left to a helmet. Almost the reverse of a MAGE which used the combo top and a cage like bottom. I think there was a rule in place that required everyone to wear a helmet. I guess these were ways to deal with the rule and still wear a mask? I’ve posted once about the mask of the Czech goalie Vlad. Dzurella, one of my favorite masks, all time. The yellow mask has an intersting series of holes at the top; do you suppose that's for mounting to a helmet? I've seen several pics of (unnmamed) Euro-goalies with a player's helmet worn over the front of the forehead of a fiberglass (sic) mask. The holes are too small for ventilation.
