Re: 2nd Shot - Up the Learning Curve

Took the first really hard shot last night. A rising snapper from about 5ft out. From the damage I took it square in the mouth.

Once again the ref didn't realize I'd been whacked as these masks don't "clang" like a modern one. (League rules say the play gets whistled down with any kind of hit to the goalie's head)

The mask absorbed it beautifully, the only damaged is chipped paint. No excessive pressure points, and much less ringing in my ears than with the "boobs" mask. It was a hard enough shot that I have a sore neck today.

Re: 2nd Shot - Up the Learning Curve

Hey guys. I haven't posted in ages, but I do stop in to catch up from time to time.

I finally found some time to get my paintjob concept made into a reality. Two of my buddies took artwork samples I'd collected in my travels and translated it into a design.

Wow did that turn out nice! I see that the cage was made significantly beefier than the original fabrication. Looks solid, balanced, real nice.
3 cheers.
ksl

ps - can you edit the earlier posts, re-insert the images, so we can see that initial fabrication?
thx

Back again. As per the request, I edited the original posts with updated links. I'm still figuring out how to best use SkyDrive for image hosting. #1) I know I can see the pics, but can you guys? #2) I know the images are huge, one hurdle at a time.
