Re: What brand of pads do you wear?

This was last year. I've had this equipment since the mid 80's. The catch glove since 1982. Brown would have you trace around your hand on a piece of paper and send it to him to get the finger stalls the correct size. Miller would measure your legs himself with a tape measure for leg pads.

Re: What brand of pads do you wear?
I'm a first year rookie...first year in the net and all I could afford and all I like is old school...I have a pair of Cooper GP95L's 30" (and I'm 6') and I have a blocker/glove combo of GM12 Pro custom's. And the crwoing piece which I love, vintage skates! Bauer Goaler Pro, all leather, black, size 11...They are all beautiful! Sorry I love my gear! thanks

6' & 30 inch pads. Hmmmmmmm, I see a lot of knee stingers in your future!!!
If you stick with that size & plan on walkinf the rest of you life, then I suggest that you get a good pair of inside knee pads. Something like these:
I'm 6' and wear 35" Brian's pads with thigh pads and still took 15 stitches to the top of the knee back in Dec. Sometimes the puck has eyes!!! I'm sure every goalie on this board can relate.

Re: What brand of pads do you wear?
bugsyfu, Yeah I hear what your saying. But many goalies like have better movement/agility that comes with wearing shorter pads. Some NHL goalies that wore shorter pads include Lindbergh,Malarachuk,Hrudey,Berthiaume,Parent,Millen,Seviny, etc.
I am 6"3 tall and wear a 35 inch pad,and have worn as small as 34.....I probally should wear a pad as tall as a 38 but dont like the feeling larger pads have.
I like to handle the puck alot and im out of my net as much as possible...so pads that are not as restrictive work better for myself.
I have those knee pads you pictured and wear them along with 2 sets of regular knee pads.I also have a set of Brians knee/thigh guards which are stitched to the inside of my goal pants and hang down...so my knees are always well protected if I go into the butterfly position. My Brians pads also have built in wraparound knee prtection.
larger/taller pads are not always the answer.
