I'd also really like to see the Sawchuk modified figure!
Has anyone done one with Jacques Plante whispering in Tretiak's ear yet?

Re: Customized McFarlane Figures
You can always find some cool 70's goalie customs on eBay,I found Bunny Larocque and Gary Smith just the other day(alot of $ though)....
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZdwnjo27QQhtZ-1
I was hoping McFarlane would just release a 5 or 6 "great goalies" set every year.....im tired of waiting for the Legends series to come out, with just 1 goalie in the set.
im still waiting for the official Parent,Lindbergh and Dryden to be released...as well as Bobby Clarke.
we will probally never ever see a Bannerman,Bromley,Dion,Gratton,Meloche,Garrett,Liut or Palmateer...which is a shame.
The recent Tony Espo Legend figure which was just released is really cool however.
and the early Fuhr is also one of my favorites up to this point.

Re: Customized McFarlane Figures
Theres an interesting story behind these custom figures I thought I'd share with you all.
The artist is a friend of mine and shortly after posting his Gary Smith North Stars custom on ebay he received an e-mail from, much to my friends amazment and delight, none other than Gary 'Suitcase' Smith himself. Aparently, Gary was very impressed with his likeness and he ask my friend if he would do customs of 'suitcase' in all his uniforms (I know thats asking alot right. lol!!)
Anyways, he gave my friend his # and asked him to call for more details, which he did.
Here is what my friend told me of their conversation:
....I asked him if he remembered wearing a Holmuth for the Stars before going with a Harrison. Both he and Paul Harrison wore the plain holmuth whites. He said they probably both ordered them on a trip to Toronto from a guy named Harrison. (that we know right?). Anyway Smith liked Harrisons paint jobs. He didn't say why Paul kept his white. I asked if they wore padding in the masks. He said not much but they would use felt stuff placed in strategic locations to help absorb some of the shock. He 's pretty sure the Stars mask and the Washinton one were the same mask with the same paint scheme only in different colors since he went from Minnesota right to washington.
He is in San Dieago now and sounds like he's into the racing scene.....
I'll keep you posted if there is anymore mask info during their future correspondences.
Cheers,
Dom
