Re: Favell Mask History.

IC I will adjust my original post to this.

Can anyone make this MORE accurate? I just want to understand the big picture.

Flyers

Pretzel (Roy Weatherbee made) Flyers
Higgins Flyers white
same mask - Orange by trainer
same mask - Orange and white spiral triangles

Leafs

same Higgins - White with Blue Leaf forhead
Harrison White with leaf on Face (2 masks same one backup)

Rockies

Harrison White Red Yellow Blue (2 masks same one backup)

One of the only things I do not know besides the 2 Leafs masks which I will confirm.

Is, order of Full orange and Spiral orange of Higgins paintjob with Philly.

Which came first?

Full Orange

see the Favell interview, he explains it in his own words

I have an action photo of Favell & Jean Beliveau who retired after the 1970-71 season so that confirms that there's no confusion. The starburst came later.

I still think Favell had two diferent leaf on the face (not Forehead) masks. Page 93 of "Saving Face" shows the leaf on the Rockies style mask. The 25000 post here Frank posted a different "face" leaf mask.

Correct?

Well if that Harrison full face leaf mask is his backup mask on his wall as the interview says and the other one is in the Hall then that means there WERE 2 Harrison Leaf masks like Doug said on the phone. He also said there were 2 Rockies masks. His game worn (Classic auctions mask)and his backup (Ebay Mask)..

I bet if you photo match the "saving face" book's photo you will find that it is one of the Rockie masks repainted.

Re: Favell Mask History.

So maybee it went.

Harrison Full Face Leaf mask with T pattern.

Then Harrison Full Face Leaf mask with new Scattered Hole Pattern

Then Full Face Harrison Leafs mask with scattered hole pattern repainted with new Rockies Design.

That would mean Doug is correct there were 2 Leafs and 2 Rockies Masks but possibly only 3 masks.

That would mean the Classic mask guy has the 2nd Full Face Harrison Leafs mask painted Rockies mask. Valuable... But only a theory. One thing forsure, I am officially a mask nerd.. NO QUESTION.
