Re: Favell Mask History.
Firstly, I forgot about this one, wouldn't this be it since he only had one Higgins mask? Or is is a replica. The eyes are right..

Re: Favell Mask History.
Wow very impressive.. I think you might have solved the mystery. That looks like it might be it? What is with this thread awhile ago about it being stolen though?

Re: Favell Mask History.
I saw that post, it is from 2007. I cannot for the life of me remember what I meant by what I said. But was it stolen from the hOF and someone painted this stupid paintjob on it? I see there is alot of BLue paint underneath it.
Maybee when they got it home they wished they had the Palmateer??
Anyway the Eyes holes and everything line up perfectly as well as the bulge in the chin.

Re: Favell Mask History.
Looks like the sunburst and forehead leafs mask. Might be why the faked forehead higgins is there. As a history of masks display it is very difficult to show several awesome paint jobs when one original mask kept getting repainted into those awesome paint jobs. You either show the mask as it ended up, or you put up reproductions to show it's artistic history (you should mark them as such however)or you put up the masks as it ended up and the reproductions to show it's evolution.

Re: Favell Mask History.
That is amazing.
You may well have cracked the mystery.
And if this is the original Favell mask repainted - it means that
-Favell's original mask at one time was definitely in the Hall of Fame
-For an unknown reason (breach of security problem?) it was repainted
- Someone felt compelled to turn a different mask into a copy of the original one that was repainted
- A lot of painting going on in the Hall...
- If there's any chance at all that this mask is still in HHOF storage, Mr. Favell should claim his mask - immediately - before something else happens to it...
In any case, he should be notified that this appears to be what went on with his mask.

Re: Favell Mask History.
Way ahead of everyone and thanks to Plante and uflbarry , but especially PLante.
I called Favell last night and also emailed him pictures . He was to be on his way today to the Hall as they have removed the fake Leafs Higgins for Favell to look at . I informed him to ask Tyler , Pritchards right hand man to five Favell access to all masks in storage either in the Hall or HHOF warehouse . Its the only way for sure to know if the mask really still exhists !
Now before we get ahead of ourselves , I ask the forum , can a layer of paint be removed to restore a previous look .....
