HM6 VS SM6
Just found this HM6 at the flea market today in Quebec city. It's different from my SM6, the plastic is thicker and les flexible. Do you think that SM stands for street instead of HM for hockey on the older HM6?
For your info I got it for $1

Re: HM6 VS SM6
I swear I had one when I was younger exaclty the same but was made of fiberglass. I think they used to be made of fiberglass instead of plastic..

Re: HM6 VS SM6
The HM6 was the initial style of this mask. It had an old style harness. (Leather loops through the mask, with buckles).
The SM6 has a different harness style. (Snaps and locking loops).
These are plastic masks.
Back in my Pee Wee hockey days, I wore a CCM and later a Mylec mask. A goalie on another team had an HM6. I thought that his mask was the do all, end all of masks.

Re: HM6 VS SM6
I have that same HM6 with the original straps. I had Redwing logo's painted on the mask. Used it alot during my street hockey adventures. I just can't part with the old warhorse.

Re: HM6 VS SM6
My older HM6s seemed a bit stiffer. The later SM6s I have are also less glossy.

Re: HM6 VS SM6
I have one of those SM6 masks.
many years ago I actually used it on the ice in practice once, just to see what it was like.
not too sure what the difference was between the HM6 and SM6 name however.

Re: HM6 VS SM6
I like to refer to these as the "Humungus" mask. Note: not a "Jason" mask.

Re: HM6 VS SM6
Takes me back to my street hockey days. Actually wore the HM6 in my PeeWee hockey days. Took some good stitches to. Loved it though.
