Re: How to test strength?
I have seen Richter take some nasty head shots with Ed's mask and he just shook it off. Then he switched to a Bauer mask (I won't mention the mask maker), and he gets a concussion. Ed's masks were solid. And he was always improving them. They were up there with Harrison's in quality.

Re: How to test strength?
Easy Buddy Stay away from that 2nd cup of Coffee. I did infact own a Bauer and after a
year it did crack From the bottom of the cage
to the bottom of the chin. I filled the crack full of resin and donated it to a roller hockey league.(They play with a Ball so I was not all that worried.) Ed makes a very quality mask and was worn by a lot and I mean a alot of NHLers.Braithwaite,Stauber,Casey,Carey,Richter,
Shtalekov,Ram,Beaupre,Hebert,Muzzatti,Barrasso,
Cujo,Burke,.and many many more. The way you can tell is by the C cut were the ear holes are. see pic.
Richter ended up with a Skull Fracture after being struck in the head with a puck Just seams like something failed on the mask.
Sorry Plante I did not mean to turn this into
Combo talk.

Re: How to test strength?
Danger,
The mask Muzzy wore for team Italy was one that I made years ago. He had it repainted along the way. Jason Muzzatti was always a very down to earth, regular guy and a pleasure to deal with. He also had one of the bigger mellons that I've done. But remember, most of your skull is taken up by the brain.

Re: How to test strength?
Danger.
When you say Bauer mask. Do you mean a store bought off the shelf Bauer mask? Or do you mean a custom Bauer mask from Pro's Choice? Big difference here!
