new mask painter
hello all. I wanted to introduce myself and to hopefully contribute something to this great forum. Im a goalie/artist in Jersey and I have forged an improbable friendship with Gary Smith who linked me to this site. Currently I am painting a mask of Gary's in a Dali-esque style. Its my first attempt at mask painting since I was a kid spray painting my Mylec masks just about every summer. Should all go well, the new mask may appear on this site someday soon. I grew up in Wash, DC and idolized the poor fellows who tended the Caps nets in the 70's and 80's. Wolfe, Stephenson, Palmateer, Inness, etc. Some tremendous masks on those guys and lots of acrobatics that made me fall in love with goaltending. Would like to hear any advice on mask painting and what I should be wary of. Until then, I continue to chug away at Gary's "Persistence of Overtime" mask and welcome any thoughts.

Re: new mask painter
Hey there. Welcome. I'm new to the board as well. Will you be painting just fiberglass masks or will you also paint the new masks as well? Any idea what your price ranges would be?

Re: new mask painter
I'm always open to new ideas be it full-face masks or combos. Under the MASK GALLERY subject on this site, click on the DALI-MASK and you can see the great pics Gary took of the finished mask. Lets hear your ideas and we can work out reimbersement details later. But if you want the Sistene Chappel or "Guernica" on your mask, it may cost ya! N{* S{* U{*
