Help Me ID these Vintage Pads

These pads belong to friend of ours.. No visible markings or ID's anywhere. They are built like tanks and are relatively heavy. The only real distinctive feature is the design of the calf protector.

Thompson? I think Jim Craig wore Thompson during the Olympics and the calf protector looks similar as in your pic.

If they are Thomson's, they had a stamp on the outside of the pad near the bottom, usually said just "THOMSON" and then had a size near the bottom like "32". It was on the leather part. Look closely as it's probably faded.

They look like Thomson's to me also. Here is the stamp on my pair:

Yeah just like that Neums! The top stitched part looks like an add on, mine didn't have that leg protector either, might be a home made piece?

Re: Help Me ID these Vintage Pads

I have heard Thompson's early pads were great quality but his 80's foam pads were pretty bad.
